After rebates, a quality 6.6kW system typically costs $4,500–$6,500 installed. A 13.2kW system with battery storage runs $12,000–$18,000. We provide itemised quotes with all rebates applied — you see the true out-of-pocket cost.
Many standard residential installs are completed in a single day, subject to site and electrical conditions. Battery add-ons may need a half-day extra. Grid connection approval from your distributor takes 5–15 business days after installation.
For the Victorian solar rebate you generally must own and live in the property, have a combined household income under $150,000 p.a. and a home valued under $3 million that hasn't previously received the rebate. Program rules change from time to time — GreenCore checks your current eligibility for free as part of your quote.
Melbourne averages 4.5–5 peak sun hours per day, making it excellent for solar. A typical system pays back in 3–5 years and then generates free electricity for 20+ years. Adding a battery extends payback to 7–9 years but provides greater energy independence and optional backup capability, depending on the system design.
